I recently went to this exhibition in The Mills Fabrica, a great space in King's Cross area in London, that is a global innovation ecosystem, dedicated to accelerating sustainable and social impact. They welcome start-ups, partners, via a system of co-working space.

This exhibition was reimagining performance materials through the lens of 4 innovation narratives: Reimagining materials, Greener Chemistries, Beyond durability, and Future Footwear. Each of spaces were clearly separated via a colored guided space, enabling the visitor to freely navigate the innovation examples, touching samples, capturing the explanation to the key label icons like: biobased, made from waste, non-toxic, etc...

I was particularly drowned to Amphicolour by Amphico, a machine learning colouration system that predicts and matches colours before weaving, cutting chemical useand eliminating wastewater in its waterless colouration process. It was particularly inspiring to see them achieving different colorations by mixing fewer pre-colored threads, it opened a lot of ideas and potential, as technically as poetically.
